Yet, they keep cutting science and engineering - private vs public, where to put R&D? Maybe some sort of element can generate enough electricity for small devices such as a light bulb? I say light bulb because its practical everyone understands we need light at night and can mass produce it to make some money... everyone needs one much like a spoon. So, there is money to be made there.
I started to build, but failed currently - cause I just don't have the power and money etc.. to build a non-intrusive current monitoring device. Imagine something that could monitor a motor in your house that does so through non-intrusive inductive coils. You merely snap it onto a line and it monitors current conditions. My dad was always experimenting in the basement as an electrician. He wanted to hook up the vehicle to a home converter to power the home if the power went out. He was almost there... he says, our great great grandfather helped invest the fuse I don't know how true that was. I think he was dreaming at the time.
