What no one has so far defined is what use/value will AI have for me? I'm a married retired homeowner. So what, you say, AI applies to jobs.

So what about the employed people I know? A self-employed home reno contractor. A public school teacher. A vet employed by a clinic. A communications consultant emloyed by a charity. The businesses may find a use for AI, but what use is it for their non-employment activities? That's the question the government isn't answering but is the foundation of Canadians' lack of trust. As usual, governments don't understand what drives their citizens' concerns.

It's important for Canada to have an AI adoption strategy for solving the biggest and toughest domestic issues in govt (e.g. healthcare) and industry (e.g. energy). It should also encourage widespread education, learning and practice by the entire population as users. It's equally important to have an activation strategy focused on scaling proven AI tech companies with the largest proven export potential (think more Shopify's).
